Again, I ask myself why our society tolerates the fact that people, who are not exposed to threats, keep weapons in their homes for their own entertainment. It is bound to go wrong!
Und wieder einmal frage ich mich warum unsere Gesellschaft es hinnimmt, dass Menschen, die nicht akut bedroht sind, Tötungswerkzeuge aus Unterhaltungsgründen zuhause aufbewahren. Es geht schief!

Two British soldiers dead, another two soldiers and two civilians injured. This is the sad balance of last night’s terrorist attack in county Antrim, Northern Ireland. Some people never learn – seriously bad news for Ireland.
I hope that this attempt to undermine the peace process fails miserably. Read more on RTÉ News.

Yesterday evening I received the following text message from my housemate Isma: „Felix, dinner is ready. Come downstairs if you want. Hugs“
I had to laugh so hard; I almost fell off my chair.

Thursday afternoon, my friend Marian arrived. This morning he left again. In less than 48 hours we walked several miles in the streets of Dublin, watched the beginning of a rugby match in Trinity College, visited the Guinness Storehouse, browsed the shelves of the record stores, went to the Savoy in order to watch „The Curious Case of Benjamin Button“, drank a pint in half a dozen pubs in city centre and dined like kings in the Gourmet Burger Kitchen.
It was a very short, but intense visit. We had a very good time. Lots of action! Now, I’ve to catch up on some sleep. Good night.

Last Tuesday, Shrove Tuesday, was Pancake Tuesday in Ireland. Traditionally, people eat pancakes before the fasting season in order to use up their stocks of eggs, milk, sugar etc.
Although we did not plan to fast, we thought that it’s a rather nice idea to have pancakes in hour house with Berta and Isa. But before we could say pancake, our small kitchen was crowded. Berta, Isa, Carmen & Carmen, Simone, Serena, Luisa, Chris, Isma and me shared the few squaremetres betweeen oven and table. What a feast!
